What Makes Brain Education (BE) Effective
- An integrative approach to enhance physical, emotional, and mental well-being
- Developing a foundation for students to use their brain capabilities effectively
- Experiential training for behavioral as well as cognitive changes
The BE program consists of physical, emotional, and cognitive exercises designed to improve focus, creativity, memory, confidence, stress management, and physical health. Training outcomes include significant positive changes in learning efficiency, motivation, self-esteem, peer relationships, anxiety, self-regulation, stress management, and levels of positive behavior in the school and community.
Through mindfulness training and Brain Versatilizing exercises that promote neuroplasticity, Brain Education literally helps our kids build their focus and attention.
Every day in schools and homes across America, children are asked to “focus”, “concentrate”, “listen”, “pay attention”. But as teachers and parents, how often do we take the time and effort to teach our kids HOW to focus? And would we even know how if we wanted to?
We teach our teachers and students hundreds of physical and mental exercises to train them how to improve their focus and strengthen their attention span. Following the 5 step Brain Education System Training, we begin with physical exercises designed to improve the mind-body connection while stimulating increased blood, oxygen and energy circulation to the brain.
We teach a variety of fun and challenging mental coordination exercises – which teach methods to actualize the neuroscience concept of “neuroplasticity”. Neuroplasticity basically teaches us that we can change and improve the way our 100 billion brain cells communicate with one another, thereby creating a more efficient and powerful brain.
Brain Education utilizes a dynamic combination of physical, emotional and cognitive exercises to tap into our infinite brain potential. Our programs empower children and adults to improve focus, confidence, memory, creativity, and emotional wellness while reducing stress and anxiety.
Promoting Physical, Emotional, and Cognitive Intelligence
Improve Focus & Memory
- Brain Education (BE) utilizes a variety of methods to improve focus and memory:
- Brain-based physical exercises promote optimal energy and oxygen flow to the brain;
- Neuroplasticity coordination activities integrate the left and right brain hemispheres;
- Isometric breathing and visualization training promote alpha brain waves;
- Specific memory enhancement strategies empower our students to improve their short
and long-term memory, dramatically aiding in comprehension and retention.
Managing Stress and Test Anxiety
Test anxiety is a chief cause of student underperformance and stress is a prime contributor to educator burnout. Through BE, students and teachers learn simple and effective stress management tools (breathing, mindfulness training, emotional release, etc) to ensure they approach a task with a confident, relaxed and focused mindset.
Increased Productivity and Learning Efficiency
Time on-task is the number one indicator of student productivity and BE gives students and teachers hundreds of exercises, activities and strategies to maximize their learning efficiency while cultivating a nurturing and positive learning environment.
Confidence and Positive Attitude
Consciously developing self-efficacy – a student’s belief that s/he will be successful in a giventask – is a huge part of boosting student achievement and overall self-esteem. BE provides proven confidence building activities that empower students to maximize their academic and social success.
Mindfulness & Movement
Research has shown conclusively that movement is essential to healthy brain development as exercise creates the nerve connections needed for optimal brain functioning. In addition, it helps to circulate blood, oxygen and nutrients to the brain and stimulates the production of hormones that combat stress and depression. BE provides simple, effective and fun daily exercises that are seamlessly incorporated into the school day.
Brain Education School Programs
Teachers • Students • Parents
For Teachers:
We provide a variety of professional development trainings for teachers, ranging from one-hour to one week. All trainings are designed to give participants hundreds of hands-on exercises, activities and principles to use in the classroom as well as direct experience in mindfulness and stress-management training for their own development.
For Students:
We offer direct classroom instruction for students, K-12. These instructional visits, ranging from twenty minutes to one hour, give students a variety of mind-body exercises to promote focus, confidence and emotional wellness. Typically, these visits are done weekly, in blocks of 5-20 weeks. These visits also enable teachers to reinforce their learning.
For Parents:
Our parent seminars give parents activities to use at home to help their children stay healthy, happy and focused. By directly participating in BE exercises, parents also learn techniques to manage stress, improve energy levels and create harmonious relationships within the family.
